Introduction to OICA

Introduction

   Due to the trend of the globalization, Kainan University (KNU) has established the office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs (OICA) in 2005 to help our students broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning experiences through the international cooperation and academic exchanges with universities in different parts of the world. OICA consists of five divisions, namely, Overseas Student Services, Cooperation & Exchange, International Recruitment, Cross-Strait Training, and Chinese Language Center. The responsibilities of OICA widely cover the international and Cross-Strait collaboration, exchange and degree-seeking programs, the provision of services to international students, and promoting the development of internationalization.

The responsibilities of OICA include the followings:

  1. To deal with the international and cross-strait affairs of academic exchanges
  2. To organize visits for cross-strait and partner institutions’ academics and guests
  3. To maintain / update the contracts of KNU’s partner institutions
  4. To recruit international / exchange / degree-seeking students
  5. To recruit Chinese-language learning students
  6. To assist the applications of studies and help inbound students choose courses
  7. To coordinate teaching staff members and course schedules
  8. To handle all related issues including students’ admissions, insurances and students’ IDs
